BOBBY’S REPORT

Starting on Thursday the international qualifiers for the Lakeside World Championship take place at Bridlington. Representing Fife to try and earn a place at the Lakeside in January will be Stuart McGaulley who qualified from the Fife play-off. Joining Stuart will be Brenda Hunter, Stewart Rattray and Neil Brunton who gain entry by way of qualifying for the WINMAU World Masters, which the world finals of are also being held this weekend.

Stuart will only be playing in the World Championship qualifier but Brenda, Stewart and Neil will be taking part in the WINMAU which the latter stages are televised live on the BBC on Saturday with the finals on Sunday so hopefully we may see one of the players on TV? If you want to follow their progress on Friday, you can check the draw on the BDO website as it will be updated round by round.

This Friday night Lochgelly League begins their new season and it kicks off with the George McCormack Shield. The tournament is open to all players and the format is 301 double start. The venue is the Railway Tavern, Bowhill, with a registration time of 7.30pm for a 7.45 start. Entry fee is £2 per player. If you are unable to be at the Tavern for 7.30, if you call the pub or a member of the league committee, you will be entered in the draw.
