This Thursday evening the monthly meeting of
Fife Darts Association will be held in the CISWO, Glenrothes and starts from
7.30pm.
On Saturday the Craigie Bar will be
hosting a play off for the John Smith’s Peoples darts tournament. Entry to the
competition is free but is restricted to non-county dart players (super league
players can participate). The winner will go through to the Scottish finals at
Blantyre later this month and if lucky enough to win from there, they go
through to the finals stage which is held over the course of the Lakeside World
Championship week next January as well as a year’s sponsorship from John
Smith’s; a training session with a professional darts players in their local;
nights and tickets to the Lakeside World Championship from the Quarter finals
for winner plus guests plus as well as other benefits.
All
players interested in taking part should be in the Craigie for 1.00pm for a
1.30 start. If unlucky not to get through from the Craigie Bar qualifier
players can head along to the Station Hotel in Leslie as they are also holding
a qualifier which will be starting from 7 o’clock. On Monday 12th there will
also be another qualifier held in Methilhill Bowling Club so there are plenty
of opportunities to try and win through to the Scottish finals.
Last Thursday’s results in the women’s Super
League saw 4-1 wins for the CISWO against Kennoway Bowling Club and Shardys,
who were away to the Royal Tavern in Thornton. In the other match, the BRT lost
3-0 against the Clansman. The top average from the first round matches was
18.01 by Brenda Hunter (Shardys).
