This Friday night sees the finals of
the CISWO’s Summer Open Tournament be contested in the club. The two players
who qualified from last Friday from a field of over forty competitors were
Davie Laing, who beat Jim Lyle 2-0 and Garry Berwick with a similar win over
Mark Thomson. Davie and Garry join Danny Cunningham, Ray Porterfield, Rab Shaw,
Andrew McDougall, Keith Slocombe, Alan McKerrow, Steve Fairfull, Paul Coughlin,
Colin Hogg, Rab Cree, and Lochgelly league quartet; James Scougall, Math
Wilson, Alan Small and Stuart McGaulley.
All players are asked to be in the club by 7.45pm so the draw can be made and the first match gets underway at 8.00pm. The total prize fund is over £1000 with the winner on the night receiving a first prize of £450.
The runner-up will pick up £200 and prize money is paid down to
the last eight. Each player who made it through the qualifiers will also
receive a bottle of spirits.
On Sunday, the Scottish Darts Association
will be holding their AGM in the Tulloch Institute, Perth. The meeting starts
at 1.00pm.
Next Wednesday (19th) is the night
of the Lochgelly & District Darts Association’s Annual General Meeting. The
AGM will take place in Shardys from 7.30pm and is open to all players who
participated in the league last season, as well as any new teams who wish to
become members for the forthcoming season.
