BOBBY’S WEEKLY REPORT 14TH JANUARY 2009

 

This Thursday evening the next round of women’s Super League matches are contested. Leaders the CISWO have a home tie against third placed team, the Station Hotel, Thornton; second meets fourth when Shardys play East Neuk at home; and in the remaining fixture the two Railway Tavern teams play each other with the A team hosting the B team.

On Saturday Fife’s Inter County team travel up the M90 to play Perthshire in their next match. The venue for the match is the Glen Bar (opposite Tesco’s) and the first match will start at approximately 10.30am. Bus pick-up points and times are as follows; Aberhill depot 8.00am; Golden Acorn, Glenrothes, 8.10am; Chapel Farm roundabout, 8.20am; the flyover at Cowdenbeath at 8.25am; Lauder College 8.35am and Kinross services at 8.45am. All players not going by bus are reminded they should inform their team manager at their earliest convenience. For anyone wishing to travel on the bus, there will be a £10 charge, which includes entry to the venue by programme.

Last Saturday Fife Darts Association held their first tournament of 2009 in the CISWO which was the qualifier for the Scottish Mixed Doubles. A healthy turnout saw the board finals go as follows; John Walker & Margaret Hatton won 3-0 against Andrew Bathgate & Louise Park; Craigie Bar player Gordon Donnelly qualified along with partner Agnes Gallagher with a 3-1 win over Colin McClements & Frances Wood; and the last final saw Mark Kilpatrick & Margaret Finlayson win by the same score-line against Ian Cochrane & Izzy Brannan. All three pairs will now play in the Scottish finals which will be held at Bannockburn on Saturday 24th January.
