Bus pick-up times and points for players travelling by bus or for anyone wishing to go to the match to support the team are as follows: 7.30 Aberhill Depot; 7.40 Golden Acorn, Glenrothes; 7.50 Chapel Farm roundabout; 7.55 the flyover at Cowdenbeath slip road; 8.00 Lauder College; and 8.15 Kinross Service Station. Supporters should note that the cost will be £10 (which includes entry to the venue by programme).

Any players not available for selection, or who are making their own way to the venue are reminded that they should contact their team manager.

Last Thursday the second round fixtures in the men’s Super League took place. Lochgelly travelled to the CISWO to take on last season’s champions Glenrothes A and despite a late rally by Lochgelly, the defending champions recorded a 5-3 win. Colin McClements (19.31) won the first set against Craig Robertson (18.65) for the home side before seeing Lochgelly go 2-1 ahead following wins from Paddy Reilly (24.64) and Alan Small (22.43), but Chris Izatt (24.65) then won against Kevin Feeley (21.96) to level the score at 2-2. Rab Shaw (23.38) and Jock Martin (24.20) then put Glenrothes 3-2 and 4-2 up with respective wins against James Scougal (21.24) and Math Wilson (24.33) before Colin Feeley (23.47) won the deciding leg of his game with a 14-darter against Colin Miller (21.84) after he had missed double ten for a 12 dart leg and this pulled Lochgelly back to 4-3. The last set also went the distance after Kevin O’Hagan pulled his set back to 2-2 after being 2-0 down but John Carrat proved to be the hungrier of the two players and won the fifth leg to take the points (John’s average was 21.21, Kevin’s was 20.48).

Player of the match was Chris Izatt (GA) with 24.65; the highest checkout was 81 by Paddy Reilly (L) and the fastest leg was Lochgelly’s Colin Feeley with his 14-darter. 180’s were scored by Alan Small (L), Chris Izatt (GA) x2, Math Wilson (L), and John Carrat (GA).

In the other game played, Cowdenbeath were at home against Dunfermline and emerged 5-3 victors. Top average from that match was by Stewart Rattray (Cowdenbeath) with 33.40. The match between Earn Valley and Glenrothes B was postponed and will be played at a later date.
